Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! On behalf of Verdi Wealth Management, we first and foremost want to extend our condolences to anyone who has been directly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, whether through sickness, death, or economic hardship. 2020 was a stressful year to say the least, and while we are not out of the woods yet, we are hopeful we have turned the corner.

We also want to say thank you to our clients for their continued trust in us as the steward of their family’s resources. As investors, 2020 tested our patience and resolve like almost no other year has. We are hopeful that we did a good job communicating our thoughts and advice throughout the year as the situation unfolded.

2020 was an extremely challenging year on many fronts. Many of our clients have expressed concern how to plan effectively with such an unclear horizon before us. We never truly know what is coming around the corner, and today we do not really know what will happen with the virus and the rollout of the vaccines, or with the policy decisions that will be coming out of Washington. We do know that investors are experiencing feelings of uncertainty right now that are more intense than normal- partly due to the unprecedented nature of the pandemic, partly because of the deep political and social divides in our country, and partly because of the emotional toll of the extended lockdowns throughout our country. Prudent investment planning never assumes the ability to predict what is going to happen next regarding capital markets, tax policy, etc. As wealth advisors we can only weigh the probabilities and take actions that position our clients to do well in the context of their individual goals. Thus, it is our job to help clients make wise choices and develop a sense of equanimity during these highly uncertain times.

Let us hope that 2020 is a once-in-a-century anomaly and that we can all get back to seeing our loved ones, eating at restaurants, and traveling across borders to our favorite destinations. While we all would be happy to just simply forget about the past 12 months, it wasn’t all for naught. The pandemic showed us how unpredictable our lives are and how important it is to live the best life that we want to live while focusing on health, family, career, and community.

As always, please call us if there is anything we can do for you. Best wishes for a healthy, happy, and successful 2021!
