A Different set of Lenses –
Partnering with an advisor is not about giving up full control. It is about gaining objectivity, insight, and expertise from someone who always has your best interest in mind. As a prospective client, we truly understand you have options in regards to your financial advice.
Managing your own portfolio is terrific. The irony is, though, the better you are at it, the bigger it grows, and the more beneficial it is to get the point of view of someone who isn’t so personally involved. If you are currently working with a financial advisor, even the best relationships can benefit from the fresh air of a second opinion.
We can help you think through long-term strategies to meet your personal timelines and objectives. On the investment side, we may be able to provide you with access to certain investment opportunities perhaps unavailable to you. Whatever your personal situation is, our team can go as deep and broad as you want.
We’re not in the business of selling you financial products or steering you towards a particular investment because of some benefit we might get on the backend. We are just passionate about wealth planning and we love using our expertise to help our clients achieve great things. That’s our backend benefit.
A successful investment experience starts with a well thought out portfolio that aligns with the science of asset allocation and the art of incorporating your individual circumstances.
Individuals and Families
At some point in your life, the question, “What’s next?” begins to enter the conversation. We like to use the phrase, “When does work become an option”? Wealth Planning is about devising strategies to help you clearly understand the roadmap to your future. This goes way beyond simply managing your money or “buy low, sell high.” It is important for us to understand the day-to-day practicality of your life and understand your “critical capital” needs. We also want to learn about your dreams and aspirations so that we can tailor a plan to help you achieve them.
Individuals and families live lives that are unique in almost every way, especially when it comes to finances. Careers, kids, grandkids, health, retirement, savings goals, legacy planning, tax planning, insurance planning, etc. – all of these and more are variables that are different for everyone and that must be accounted for when we work with our clients to create short and long-term financial plans. And it must start with a plan. We cannot help our clients get anywhere if we don’t know where they plan to be. It would be unprofessional of us and a disservice to our clients to provide advice without knowing their short-term and long-term goals.
Our job is to know our clients well. We want them to have a complete roadmap for their financial future, and do not want this to be complicated. We would like our clients to be able to describe their plan for retirement or other goals in 60 seconds or less and make it understandable to the listener.
We want to make sure that the investor is not “up too close” to the market. We do not make decisions by reading the headlines. At Verdi Wealth Management we strive to accumulate high-quality assets for our clients that are appropriate for the time period that they have set to achieve their goals.
If a client is constantly looking at his or her account and wanting to make changes, we simply cannot help them. We believe that is a recipe for failure. When other investors may be wringing their hands, our clients know what they have, why they have it, and why short-term events are usually not important in relation to their long-term plan.
Services we provide individuals and families include, but are not limited to:
- Portfolio Management
- Retirement Income Planning
- Risk Management
- Alternative Investments
- Life and long term care Insurance
- Estate and Tax Planning*
- Wealth Transfer and Inheritance strategies
- Qualified Plans and IRA distribution strategies
- Lending and Credit solutions
*Tax preparation services offered through Verdi Wealth Management are separate and unrelated to Commonwealth.

We want to make sure that our business owner clients take advantage of every opportunity to shelter as much of their income from taxes as possible while staying in compliance with the law. We help our clients save and invest much more than they traditionally thought was possible, and keep it out of the hands of Uncle Sam.

- Defined Benefit Plans
- 401Ks, Single Ks, Profit Sharing Plans, SEP IRAs, Simple IRAs

Endowments and Foundations
The amount of charity work that is done in our local, national, and international communities is astounding. There are so many good people doing so many good things, and yet it seems it’s never enough. We are always honored when we are approached in regard to helping a charitable entity with the management of their liquid assets. In many cases, these assets are used to provide income for the less fortunate or for the betterment of the community, and it gives us great joy to be a small part of the work that these charities do.
The process by which we provide service and advice to Endowments & Foundations is very similar to an individual client. In most all cases, these types of charitable entities are in place to benefit people and organizations for many generations to come. Just like we would with a family or individual, we must find out the goals of the entity first, and create an investment plan that is aligned to meet those goals.
However, unlike a regular individual client, the spending needs of the charitable entity, and in some cases the investment policy statement guidelines must also be accounted for when designing a long-term investment plan. We help our charitable clients create investment policy statements that can achieve short-term spending goals without taking the focus off of long-term growth of the corpus.
Services we provide Endowments and Foundations include:
- Investment Management
- Investment Policy Statement Consulting
- 990 Tax Return Preparation
- Ongoing advice and consulting
It’s never as simple as “salary plus benefits.”
Compensation at the C-suite level has grown more creative and complex, from start-up to Fortune 500 companies. We can help decipher the details and help our clients make smarter choices based on compensation packages. Our wealth management team has over 35 years of experience working with C-suite executives throughout the Pacific Northwest. We understand the intricacies of stock option planning. We help clients customize their 10B-5-1 plans, as well as advise on section 83(b) elections. We are experts in all forms of executive comp such as RSU’s, PSU’s, NSO’s, and ISO’S.
Stock options, deferred comp, and significant bonuses are common denominators across many compensation packages, but the best strategies to manage and account for them can vary greatly depending on your personal situation.
Most executives want to be invested in their company’s success, but how much is too much? We can evaluate all aspects of your corporate benefits package and truly provide objective advice. For example, if it is an opportune time to sell some company stock, we can make that call without any emotional attachment.
Because we develop a deep understanding of your overall life plan and goals, we can provide valuable advice when it comes to stock option planning, 401K, and deferred comp planning.
A critical element of any comprehensive financial plan.
What is unique and sets Verdi Wealth Management apart from other advisory firms is our in-house Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Given the complexity of many of our client’s finances, it’s not uncommon for questions to arise about how best to handle a matter from a tax efficiency perspective. Having a CPA sitting at the next desk, rather than down the street, is what gives us the ability to execute with such depth and breadth for our clients.
An Investment Advisory Approach
Our goal is to preserve and grow your assets, despite the market, by designing low cost, high-quality portfolios with a sophisticated mix of investments that are diversified across different sectors and regions. This can help insulate you against short-term swings in any type of investment and helps grow your wealth over the long-term.
The principles we apply to portfolio management are the same ones we apply in all areas. With a deep understanding of your personal situation, goals, and tolerance for “Risk!”, we do not believe in a ‘One-size-Fits-All” approach. We customize portfolios based on advice informed by whom you are and where you are headed.
Most importantly, we are stewards of our client’s assets. Therefore, we provide a low-cost structure to client’s portfolios, understanding that fees matter. At Verdi Wealth Management (unlike some other brokerage firms) our fees are fully disclosed and transparent. Because we are fee-based and do our best to avoid sales commissions, our investment recommendations and advice are objective.
