Frequently Asked Questions

Who has custody of my money?

Our client’s assets are custodied at National Financial Services (NFS), with whom Commonwealth maintains a strategic relationship with.  NFS, a Fidelity Investments Company, provides trade execution, clearing, tax reporting, and other related services to our client’s brokerage accounts.

What are your fees?

The majority of the assets we invest for our clients are invested in fee-based accounts, where our clients are charged annually as a % of the total fee-based assets we manage for them.  Our fees start at 1%, and decrease at different asset levels our clients reach.  We pay for all trading costs, and keep the underlying investment expenses as low as we can while helping our clients work towards their long term financial goals.

Clients that utilize us for tax return preparation are charged a tax preparation fee based on the complexity of their tax return.  A quote will be provided prior to any work being performed.  Tax planning meetings, advice, and ongoing consulting are all included in the tax preparation fee. Tax return services are available on a case by case basis or if someone has $2,000,000 of investable assets with Verdi Wealth Management.

What makes you different as an independent firm?

Our status as independent financial advisors means you can be assured that our interests are aligned with yours. While there are many different Registered Investment Advisor-Broker/Dealers to choose from, we have chosen to partner with Commonwealth Financial Network ® – the largest private independent Registered Investment Advisor-Broker/Dealer in the country.  Commonwealth offers no proprietary products, which provides us complete objectivity when choosing investment solutions for our clients.

The fact that we’ve chosen to work with Commonwealth means that our firm remains independent too.  We have no financial incentive to promote a particular product, investment, or strategy.  It’s a model that differs from that of some other, larger financial firms, whose financial representatives are accountable not just to their clients, but also to the parent company that employs them.
